US Department of Homeland Security to demonstrate ‘Pedestrian Detection-at-Range’ Technology

The United States’ Department of Homeland Security Non-Intrusive Inspection Systems Program has published details of live operational demonstrations of Thruvision “TAC” technology.
The “Pedestrian Detection-at-Range System Technical Demonstration” will take place at five ports-of-entry within the San Diego and Tucson Field Office Areas, including San Ysidro, California; Otay Mesa, California; Cross Border Express, California; Tecate, California; and Port of Nogales, Arizona.
The objectives of the demonstration are to show how the technology can enhance situational awareness and aid Customs and Border Protection officers in observing potential weapons or dangerous objects in a timely manner.
