CEVA Logistics, together with Thruvision, picked up the award for the ‘Most Innovative Retail Risk Management Cross-functional or Supply Chain Solution’ at the 2021 UK Retail Risk Fraud Awards event, held at Leicester City Football Club on December 2nd.
Pictured receving the award are Ryan McInerny, Connie Masini Amena and Ann-Marie McLeavy (Martin) from CEVA Logistics, along with Matt Cook of Thruvision.
The award honoured solutions that have a risk and loss prevention benefit, but that sits outside of a traditional loss prevention or profit protection department. In this case, the CEVA-Thruvision solution used Thruvision’s breakthrough, people screening technology to not only improve profit protection, but to also address requirements related to employee health and safety, and productivity, by enabling high throughput employee screening at a distance of up to 3 meters.
CEVA began deploying Thruvision’s technology in 2020 at its UK and European distribution centres. The two companies have worked closely together ever since to ensure the success of this new loss prevention technology.
CEVA Logistics provides and operates transportation and supply-chain solutions for large, medium-size national and multinational companies. CEVA Logistics UKI offers a broad range of services in both Contract Logistics and Freight Management thanks to over 4,000 employees, operating over 100+ facilities. Thruvision uses patented passive terahertz technology to measure the thermal energy emitted by an employee’s body. An item concealed in clothing blocks that body energy reaching the sensor, meaning a security guard can see it and ask the employee to remove it themself. Metallic and non-metallic items are reliably detected, and it is impossible to tell an employee’s age, gender or ethnicity from the Thruvision image, often termed the “green ghost”. A growing number of firms and organisations have deployed Thruvision for loss prevention applications, including SONY DADC, NEXT and Morrisons.
Thruvision is proud to stand beside CEVA’s world-class loss prevention and supply chain team with our breakthrough people screening technology.
